4,000 houses at high risk in Bhaktapur

BHAKTAPUR, May 10: The devastating earthquake has put around 4,000 houses at high risk in Bhaktapur. Residents of the district are still reluctant to go back to their own home with their house building on verge of collapse after April 25 earthquake.

As many as 4,000 houses including 2,000 in Bhaktapur municipality area and rest in Madhyapurthimi, Anantalingeswor, mahamanjushree, Nagarkot, Suryabinayak and Changunarayan municipality areas are reeling under vulnerable situation.Deputy Superintendant of Police (DSP) at Metropolitan Police Range Bhaktapur Shyam Krishna Adhikari confirmed that Bhaktapur town alone ahs seen 2,000 houses at risk.

Though the security personnel have intensified the bid to demolish damaged and vulnerable structures, it is not likely to collapse all vulnerable houses due to narrowed space there. RSS
