Minister Sharma, who is also the chairman of the Nepal National Commission for UNESCO, on the occasion of the 24 th general convention of the Commission said we should search and protect Nepal´s new heritages that are well known in terms of historical, religious and cultural point of view and that the sectoral programs on education, science, social science and culture and IT should be made effective. Nepal Academy Chancellor Bairagi Kainla suggested for bringing special program for protection of innumerable heritages of historical importance.
UNESCO representative for Nepal Axel Plathe said the intellectuals and concerned sides should be sensitive for the development of heritages as Nepal´s most heritages in the world heritage list are very important.
Commission General Secretary and Education Secretary Kishor Kumar Thapa said the country will take momentum if the effort for protection of the identity of country´s heritages is made worldwide.
Commission General Secretary Sushil Pandey presented the progress report of the past two years.
Of the programs, Education Coordinator Ram Sarobar Dube, Science Convener Prof. Dr. Ranjana Gupta, social science convener Reader Dambar Bir Thapa, culture convener Rhiddi Baba Pradhan and IT convener Yubaraj Ghimire also presented their progress report.
The current two-year program and strategy will also be presented in the general convention.
