Voting resumes at Baljyoti School in Syangja after two-hour halt

KATHMANDU, March 5: Voting at Baljyoti Primary School in Waling Municipality–10, Syangja, resumed after being temporarily halted due to a dispute. The issue arose when ballot papers without the election officer’s signature were discovered, causing a brief suspension of the process.



The disruption occurred after 171 votes had already been cast. Following an agreement to seal the two in-use ballot boxes separately for counting, the voting process was restarted, according to election officer Rishi Paudel.

The incident has been reported to the Election Commission. New ballot boxes were provided for both first-past-the-post and proportional representation voting, allowing the process to continue smoothly.


The center has 701 registered voters, and lines of voters have already formed to cast their ballots.
