Public transport resumes after polling, local authorities clear operations

KATHMANDU, March 5: Following the conclusion of voting, local authorities have cleared the way for public transport to resume operations.



Anand Kafle, spokesperson for the Ministry of Home Affairs, said that public vehicles can now run, with due consideration for the collection and security of ballot papers immediately after the elections.

He added, “While vehicles are permitted to operate, caution is advised in busy urban areas like Kathmandu due to heavy traffic. Operations were temporarily suspended to ensure the safe handling of ballots during polling, but public transport may now resume under administrative clearance.”
