At the meeting held at Dahal´s residence at Lazimpat in the capital, Dahal expressed happiness over the delisting of UCPN-Maoist from the US terrorist list.
Assistant Secretary of State Blake formally informed Dahal about the removing of his party from the terror list.
Blake expressed the view that the Nepal-US relations would move ahead on a new basis from now onwards, Dahal´s aide Shiva Khakurel told RSS.
When Blake enquired about Nepal´s political crisis, Dahal said his party was ready to resolve the problems by forging consensus among the parties.
"Consensus will be forged in a few weeks and there is no alternative to it´, Dahal said.
Urging to move ahead through consensus, Assistant Secretary Blake expressed the confidence that the UCPN-Maoist and its chairman have the prime responsibility to take the politics of Nepal on the right track.
He further said the government of USA is ready to help in the development of Nepal.
On the occasion, US Ambassador to Nepal, Peter W. Bodde, was also present. This is the first meeting of the Ambassador with Dahal after his appointment as Ambassador.
