In the fair, local entrepreneurs are exhibiting local agro-produces, handicrafts, automobiles and industrial products. IT firms and financial institutions, too, are part of the fair, disseminating information about the services they offer.

The organizers expect the fair to become a big trading event for locally produced and imported daily essential commodities, house appliances and clothing. They are also organizing cultural programs to lure visitors to promote Pokhara.

"Promoting local products at the international level is the key objective of the fair,” said Sanjeev Bahadur Koirala, president of PCCI.

Total 267 stalls are showcasing different products and services that have drawn people from neighboring districts such as Syangja, Tanahun and Parbat.

Speaking at the opening, Gachchhadar stressed on the timely construction of the proposed international airport in Pokhara to promote economic activities in the tourist town.
