Tennis team off to Bangkok

KATHMANDU: A five-member Nepali tennis team left Kathmandu on Friday to attend a high performance training to be held in Bangkok, Thailand from July 26 to August 8. [break]



The team led by coach Surya Bhushan Bajracharya includes tennis players Abhishek Banstola, Avash Malla, Bibhuti Karki and Bijisha Shrestha. All Nepal Lawn Tennis Association Vice-president Jyoti Rana and General Secretary Manohar Das Mool bade farewell to the team amidst a function in the capital on Friday. [break]



NEA general assembly on Aug 16




KATHMANDU: Nepal Equestrian Association (NEA) has decided to hold its first general assembly on August 16. A meeting of the NEA executive committee chaired by its president and National Sports Council Member Secretary Yuvaraj Lama on Friday also decided to host a national tournament on October 31 at Tundikhel, Kathmandu.



According to NEA, the tournament will be called Etihad Second Horse Show and around 40 riders are expected to participate in it.
