The qualifying tournament features the league champions of third-tier football nations of Asia as classified by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). Group A consists of Laxmi Bank Three Star Club of Nepal, Abahani Limited of Bangladesh, Taiwan Power Company (TPC) of Chinese Taipei and Erchim FC of Mongolia.[break]
Two matches will be held each day on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 15:10 NST and 18:10 NST. Three Star, which will open its campaign against Abahani Limited, is scheduled to play the second matches on all three days. Three Star will meet TPC and Erchim FC in its second and third matches.
The gate money has been fixed at Rs 200 for open parapet and Rs 500 for closed parapet. While other teams will get US$ 15,000 each as traveling allowance, Three Star will not get the allowance from AFC as it belongs to the host country. The expected cost of the qualifiers is Rs 9 million.
