KATHMANDU, April 2: The secondary market closed with a gain of 5.82 points on Thursday, bringing the NEPSE index to 2,782.18. The market showed fluctuations throughout the trading session before ending in positive territory.
The rise was led by sub-sectors excluding banks, financial institutions, finance companies, life insurance, microfinance, and non-life insurance companies. The trade sub-sector index increased the most, climbing 2.53 percent.
Nepse hits 2-year high after week's broad surge
A total of 98 companies recorded an increase in share prices, with six hitting the positive circuit. Companies that reached the positive circuit included Reliance Spinning Mills, Ridge Line Energy, Surya Kunda Hydropower, Bhujung Hydropower, Super Khudi, and Hotel Forest Inn.
Total trading volume stood at Rs 881.97 million. SY Panel led with Rs 35.7 million worth of shares traded, followed by Ngadi Group Power at Rs 30.92 million and Himalayan Reinsurance at Rs 29.65 million.
Meanwhile, 158 companies saw a decline in share prices, and 12 companies remained unchanged.
