KATHMANDU, March 13: Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa has expressed condolences on the passing of Mohan Prasad Oli, father of CPN-UML Chair and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
In a message, Thapa said he was deeply saddened by the untimely death of Mohan Prasad Oli and offered heartfelt tributes, praying for the eternal peace of the departed soul. He also extended his profound sympathy to the bereaved family during this difficult time.

"The untimely demise of Mohan Prasad Oli, the revered father of CPN-UML Chair and former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, has deeply affected me," Thapa said. "I offer my heartfelt tribute and prayers for the departed soul’s peace, and express my deepest condolences to the grieving family in this difficult hour."
Mohan Prasad Oli, 97, who had been unwell for some time, passed away this morning at a hospital in Gathaghar, Bhaktapur.
His final rites are currently being performed at Pashupatinath Aryaghat.
