Meta outage briefly takes Facebook and Messenger offline

KATHMANDU, June 12: Meta briefly experienced a global outage on Friday afternoon, taking Facebook and Messenger offline for thousands users, Malta Today reported.



According to the news portal, users reported being unable to refresh their feeds or open the platforms altogether.

Meta has not yet issued a public statement on the outage, and its cause remains unknown.


Manchester Evening News also confirmed Facebook users reported that they were unable to access the social media platform.


Issues started to affect the Meta-owned platform at around 14:30 GMT (7:45 PM Nepali time), with users struggling to load posts and getting a 'page not found' error. However, the problem was resolved an hour later with normal service restored.
