Likewise, India´s Ajay Kumar Sharma finished second while Canada´s Claudio Mota stood third in the tournament. The top three pilots bagged a purse of Rs 25,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively. [break]
In the HDV-1-2 category, Eva of Venice, Nepal´s Sachin Bamjan and Rabin Gurung secured the top three spots respectively.
Nepal´s Damodar Parajuli bagged the award for the best acrobatics. Korea´s Moon Sevlin won the best spot landing award. Nepal´s Binod Bamjan secured the title of best boat landing, while Narayan Parajuli received the award for best-of-the-costume.
A separate competition was held for Nepali nationals. In the overall Nepali paragliding competition, Rajesh Bamjan won the title while Sanu Babu Sunuwar and Bimal Adhikari finished second and third respectively.
Winners of the top three spots bagged a flying suit, a flight jacket and a flying glove respectively. State Minister of Tourism Shatrughan Singh distributed the prizes to the winners.
The tournament was organized since Thursday by the Western Regional chapter of the Trekking Agencies´ Association of Nepal with the aim of promoting tourism through adventure sports.
Altogether 87 pilots, including six women, from 15 countries participated in the tournament. Among the participants, 42 pilots were from Nepal.
