Prime lost the first quarter 4-8 but made a strong comeback in the second to register a 22-0 victory. The hosts maintained the lead in the third quarter with a 15-10 win. They lost the last quarter 6-12 but had already secured victory. [break]
In another match, the girls´ team of NASA saw off Orient 21-10 riding on 7 points from Rojina Gurung.
NASA made a good start in the first quarter scoring 7-2 and continued the dominance with 6-3 in the second quarter. They ,however, lost the third quarter 1-4 but bounced back 7-1 in the last quarter to seal the match.
In the boys´ category, the hosts Prime thrashed Rato Bangala 52-19. Siddhartha Maharjan contributed 19 points for the winning team. Prime dominated the match from the beginning winning all four quarters 8-2, 23-8, 11-9, 10-0.
Likewise, Ace squeezed past Lincoln 40-37 with the help of 12 points from Asoutosh Pandey.
Whitehouse, National Campus, Reliance and Trinity also won their respective matches.
Asim Shrestha top-scored 18 points as Whitehouse ousted Morgan International 55-47. Whitehouse won the first quarter 15-7 but slumped 12-17 in the second but still maintained a three point lead. The third quarter ended in a 11-11 draw. Whitehouse then cruised to a 17-12 win in the last quarter.
National edged out Pentagon 67-34 as Krishna Gurung scored the highest 12 points for the winners. They outplayed Pentagon in the first two quarters 18-4, 31-6. Pentagon fought back in the third to secure a 11-11 draw. They managed to beat National 13-7 in the last quarter but it was too little and too late.
Reliance ousted Bernhardt 45-22 while Trinity saw off Pyramid 46-37. Bishal Tamang contributed 10 points to Trinity´s victory.
