KATHMANDU, March 23: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Monday increased marginally by 5.01 points to close at 2,936.56 points.
NEPSE opened at 2,931.55 points added around eight points in the pre-opening session. The index reached day’s high at 2,941.53 points in just six minutes, while it spontaneously dropped to the day’s low at 2,907.56 points in the next 12 minutes. The market fluctuated by a notable range as of the last 77 minutes. The market slowly recovered around 28 points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.

Sector-wise, seven groups were the gainers as the manufacturing and processing group hit the largest gain of 154.43 points. Of the six losers, hotels and tourism dropped by the largest of 67.25 points.
The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies slid 0.28 points. Daily turnover declined to Rs 15.78 billion from Rs 23.59 billion.
Among the individual companies, 102 were the gainers and 154 were recorded as losers. Kumari Bank Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 672.37 million.
Four companies including Salapa Bikas Bank Limited, Reliance Spinning Mills, Solu Hydropower Limited and Bhujung Hydropower Limited were the topmost gainers of 10 percent. Sunrise First Mutual Fund with a decline of 3.71 percent in its market value was recorded as the highest loser.
