KATHMANDU, March 23: Nepali Congress (NC) General Secretary Pradip Paudel has questioned why the government has not yet made public the investigation report submitted by a commission led by Gauri Bahadur Karki, saying the delay has fueled suspicion and speculation.
He said the commission, formed to investigate the Gen Z protests of September 8 and 9, has already submitted its report, but the interim government has yet to disclose it.

“The report on the September 8 and 9 Gen Z protests, prepared by the commission under Karki’s leadership, has already been submitted. However, the interim government has still not made it public. This has given rise to various doubts and concerns,” Paudel said.
He further questioned what was preventing the government from releasing the report. “The tenure of the interim government is coming to an end.
Why is it turning away from its responsibility by not making the report public, even at this stage? Publishing the commission’s report is both a duty and a responsibility of the government. It is unfortunate if it is kept secret like previous commission reports,” he wrote on social media.
Paudel also noted that the NC has already called for the report’s publication through a Central Working Committee meeting. “The Nepali Congress has formally demanded the report’s release. I once again urge the outgoing government to fulfil its responsibility by making the report public as soon as possible,” he added.
