General Richards has visited Nepal before in his capacity as the Colonel Commandant of the Brigade of Gurkhas and as Chairman of the Gurkha Welfare Trust. He was appointed chief of the British Army in August last year.
A press statement issued by the British embassy said he will be here to see British Gurkhas Nepal´s activities and Gurkha Welfare Trust´s development projects.
General Richards will be paying courtesy calls on the President, the Prime Minister and the Defence Minister. He will also meet the Chief of Army Staff General Chhatra Man Singh Gurung.
