BPC and ACCA host IFRS/NFRS workshop for educators in Pokhara

POKHARA, June 12: British Professional College (BPC), operating under the umbrella of British Education Group and a Platinum Status ACCA Provider, in collaboration with ACCA, has conducted an Accounting Educators Workshop on IFRS and NFRS at Pokhara Event Centre last week, according to a press release.



The workshop brought together more than 200 accountancy and finance educators from over 150 schools and colleges, making it one of the largest professional development programmes for educators in the region, the press release stated.


The event focused on strengthening participants’ understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Nepal Financial Reporting Standards (NFRS), while promoting excellence in accounting education.

Technical sessions were facilitated by Bikrant Acharya, FCCA, who shared practical insights on accounting practices, financial reporting standards, and emerging industry trends.


Speaking on the occasion, Dipendra K. Shrestha, Head of Professional Education at British Education Group (BEG), said the strong participation reflected a growing commitment to improving the quality of accounting education in Nepal.


“The enthusiastic participation of educators reflects the growing commitment towards enhancing the quality of accounting education in Nepal. We are proud to collaborate with ACCA in providing meaningful professional development opportunities for educators,” he said.


Arun Kumar Kandel, Country Director of Kandel Group, highlighted the importance of continuous professional development in the sector amid global changes in the profession.


“As the accounting and finance profession continues to evolve globally, it is essential that educators remain updated with international and national reporting standards. Initiatives such as this workshop play a vital role in strengthening the quality of accounting education and preparing future professionals to meet global industry expectations,” he said.


According to the press release, the workshop also served as a networking platform, encouraging knowledge sharing and collaboration among educators from across the Gandaki region.
