Writ petition filed for disablsed-friendly environment

KATHMANDU, Sept 3: Advocate duo, Sudarshan Subedi and Deependra Shakya, filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court (SC) demanding disabled friendly environment in the country.



The advocates on Friday resorted to register the writ partition on behalf of Nepal Disabled Human Rights Centre and the people living with severe disability. [break]



Among the demands put forward by he writ are arrangement of unemployment allowance and helper, and educational and health services to people with severe disability and intellectual disability, construction of commune home for helpless and orphan and rewriting of Protection and Welfare Act-2039.



General Secretary of the Centre, Maheswor Ghimire informed that the writ petition was filed when even the government and stakeholders did not pay any attention despite approaching several times to the pitiable condition of people living with natural disability and people having no caretaker.
