The petition registered by advocate Ramchandra Poudel has claimed that the decision was ´illegal´ and it should be scrapped. [break]He demanded that the government invest the amount instead for the construction of development projects including hospitals, drinking waters projects in the rural areas.
Similarly, the petition has also sought the annulment of the government´s decision to provide 200 per cent allowance to the revenue section employees.
Such decision of the government is against the democratic norms and values, rule of law and fiscal discipline, claims the petition.
The petition has named the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the Finance Ministry, the Nepal Police Headquarters and the Metropolitan Traffic Police Division as the defendants.
Recently, the government had decided to provide Rs. 15 millions of the amount (Rs. 100 million) collected by the traffic police under various headings to the traffic department as incentive.
