Lilakumari Bhandari elected unopposed as National Assembly Vice-Chair

The unanimous decision came during the National Assembly session on Monday, when lawmaker Prem Prasad Dangal proposed Bhandari’s name for the position, and the proposal was passed without opposition. National Assembly Chair Narayan Prasad Dahal formally announced her election.

KATHMANDU, April 6: Lilakumari Bhandari of the CPN-UML has been elected unopposed as the Vice-Chair of Nepal’s National Assembly.



The unanimous decision came during the National Assembly session on Monday, when lawmaker Prem Prasad Dangal proposed Bhandari’s name for the position, and the proposal was passed without opposition. National Assembly Chair Narayan Prasad Dahal formally announced her election.

Bhandari received congratulatory messages and best wishes for a successful tenure from fellow lawmakers. Her election was supported across party lines, including CPN-UML, Nepali Congress, and other parties.


Previously, Bhandari has served as a Constituent Assembly member and as State Minister for Education, Science, and Technology.
