KHOTANG, July 19: A 43-year-old woman was found dead in a stream in Khotang on Saturday evening, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Shanta Rai of Mamkha, Ward 6 of Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality.

According to the District Police Office, Khotang, Rai had left her home on Saturday afternoon but did not return. Family members began searching for her and found her body in the Chhagen Stream near the village at around 8 pm.
Following the report, police teams led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Kishor Kumar Hajari Tharu from the Talkhark Temporary Police Post and Inspector Nirajan Basnet from the District Police Office reached the scene.
Police said the body was recovered from the stream and taken to the victim’s home.
Necessary legal procedures will be carried out today, while further investigation into the incident is underway, police said.
