As per the standing committee decision, Secretary Shankar Pokharel has been given the responsibility of deputy leader of the parliamentary party and the head of the party´s parliamentary department. [break]
Earlier, both the portfolios were held by another party Secretary Bishnu Paudel, who is now the defense minister.
According to Secretary Pokharel, the meeting also decided to give the portfolio of the party´s finance department to another Secretary Yubaraj Gyawali, relieving Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Bharat Mohan Adhikari from the responsibility.
Likewise, Raghu Pant has been named the head of the party´s legal department, Agni Kharel as the chief of the party´s election department, and Netra Panti as the head of the party´s local department.
Similarly, Vice-chairperson Bidya Devi Bhandari has been given the responsibility of supervising the party´s activities in the eastern region, while Yogesh Bhattarai has been designated as the head of the youth department and Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal the head of the student department.
Likewise, Karna Thapa has been designated as the in-charge of Seti zone, replacing Bhanu Bhakta Joshi, who is now the minister for forests and soil conservation.
Similarly, the party has given the responsibility of Rapti in-charge to Lali Basnet, who has succeeded Prakash Jwala, the principal advisor to the prime minister, while Chhabilal Biswokarma has been named as the in-charge of Lumbini zone.
