A UDMF meeting which was being held at Madhesi People’s Rights Forum (Democratic) party office has floated a three-point proposal on consensus government. [break]
On the consensus national government, the UDMF has proposed to convert the present Baburam Bhattarai-led government to the national consensus government as its first proposal. If the first proposal is unacceptable, the UDMF demands a new UDMF leadership. Failing to accept both proposals above, UDMF has said that it is ready to accept a leadership from any third force if it addresses the UDMF proposal in package.
UDMF is with an opinion that the new Constituent Assembly (CA) should have five-year term which will convert to parliament after endorsing the constitution.
The alliance has also proposed to table the disputed issues related to state restructuring in the CA.
