Total voters number is 12.4 m plus

KATHMANDU, Oct. 27: The total number of voters for the November 19 Constituent Assembly (CA) is slightly over 12.14 million, the Election Commission (EC) said on Sunday by publicizing the final list of the voters.



Earlier, the people aged 16 were listed in the 12.4 million voters namelist. However, people aged 16 don’t possess the right to vote.



Spokesperson at the EC Bir Bahadur Rai said that the final list of the eligible voters aged 18 was made public. [break]



Rai said that Kathmandu district has the highest number of voters while Manang has the lowest number.



A total of 532,110 voters have been registered in Kathmandu district. Similarly, Manang has 4,795 voters.



Rai said that printing of the ballot papers for the proportional electoral system has been completed.
