The incident took place at Sorahuwa VDC-2.
Nobody was injured in the outbreak but everything inside the houses was destroyed. The houses belonged to local farmers, so foodgrains stored in them was also destroyed, said police inspector Basudev Khatiwada.
The fire was doused by joint effort of villagers and police. There is no fire engine in Bardiya district so one from neighboring Banke district was brought to fight the flames.
