KHOTANG, Nov 30: A temporary Bailey bridge constructed over the Dudhkosi River at local; Jayaramghat has been brought into operation from today. Jayaramghat lies on the border between Khotang and Okhaldhunga districts. The bridge was removed in May owing to the high water level in the river. With the bridge coming into operation, vehicles can now directly travel from Diktel, the district headquarters, to the capital as well as other districts in the Tarai.
Transportation of goods and movement to Khotang and Okhaldhunga districts has become easier with the operation of the bridge.
Although a concrete bridge is under construction at the place, it is in limbo due to the negligence of the contractor company. So, the Bailey-bridge has been installed as an alternative. It will be removed during the monsoon season when the water level in the river rises. RSS
