"We haven't faced any problem so far as we have kept our generators running with diesel in our stock. But we have requested NOC to provide us sufficient fuel as our stock is depleting fast," Buddhi Prasad Acharya, managing director of NT, said.
NTC has dedicated electricity feeder at exchange centers. It has arranged strong power back-up system at its BTS locations.
"We need diesel for alternative power back-up system," he added.
Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) recently arranged uninterrupted power supply to data centers operated by Ncell. However, the GSM operator has been facing problem in arranging power back-up system at its BTS locations.

"We have gained support from NEA in this regard. But similar supply of fuel for generators to provide uninterrupted supply of power to BTS during load-shedding is crucial to enable communications," Milan Sharma, corporate communications expert of Ncell, told Republica. "We have communicated this to NOC and we are hopeful that they will support us in ensuring that communication is not disturbed during this period of crisis."
Ram Chandra Pandey, deputy managing director - distribution and consumer service of NEA, said that NEA's board meeting held in July decided to provide dedicated feeder to government offices, government corporations and essential service providers and ensure smooth supply of power during emergencies.
