Tax collection up in Kailali

KAILALI, March 5: Inland Revenue Office, Kailali has collected more revenue than the target in the first six months of current fiscal year.



The office had the target of Rs. 148 million for first six months, however, collected Rs. 159.5 million or eight percent more revenue within the first six months period, said acting Tax Officer Devananada Kafle.[break]



The office collected highest amount of Rs. 72 million from VAT.



Similarly, Rs. 71.4 from custom tax Rs. 5.9 million education service Rs. 900,000 and other in different other titles.



The office has the target of collecting Rs. 340.3 million in different titles in the current fiscal.



The office collected Rs. 313.5 million of tax last year, said Kafle.
