Sun Rise beat Vidya Sadan by one wicket making 135 runs in reply, but both the teams qualified for the semifinals. [break]
Winning the toss, Vidya Sadan opted to bat first and posted 133 runs on the board losing nine wickets in the regular 20 overs. Sun Rise reached the target losing nine wickets in 18.4 overs. Bijay Sunar topscored for Sun Rise with 39 runs.
In another match, Sun Rise defeated Mangal Prasad Higher Secondary School from Nepalgunj by 80 runs. A quick-fire 82 off 48 balls from Bipin Tiwari helped Sun Rise post 161 runs for the loss of seven wickets. In reply, Mangal Prasad was bowled out for 81 runs in 13.1 overs. Pankaj Darai took four wickets for Sun Rise while Bipin Tiwari grabbed three wickets.
Scientific Educational Secondary School from Region No 7 (Janakpur) also qualified for the semifinals after defeating Sun Rise from Baitadi by 79 runs.
Winning the toss, Scientific scored 155 runs losing nine wickets. Sushant Mandal scored 43 runs for Scientific. Tight bowling from Scientific´s bowlers helped bundle Sun Rise out for 76 in 20 overs. Mohammad Akthar of Scientific took three wickets while Sumit Chandra took two.
The first semifinal will be held on Wednesday between Vidya Sadan and Scientific, while Sun Rise of Pokhara will take on Happy Land Secondary School of Biratnagar in the second semifinal.
