Princeton beat Narayan Academy by two runs. Princeton were invited to bat first in the match reduced by three overs and were able to score only 93 runs losing eight wickets. [break]
Suraj Karki scored 18 runs while Purusottam Jha sent two Princeton batsmen to the pavilion. Narayan were bowled out in 91 runs off 16.5 overs. Suman Sijapati and Dhiraj Mishra were able to take three wickets each for the winning team. In another match, Alkapuri defeated Bright Future by 28 runs. Alkapuri won the toss and scored 110 runs losing seven wickets.
Pramod Khatri scored 19 runs off 29 balls where as Sambardhan Dawadi grabbed two wickets. Alkapuri bowled Bright Future on 82 runs off 17.3. The win was not enough for Alkapuri for their semifinal spot. Army School will play against Princeton in the first semifinal while AVM will face Rajan Memorial.
Gyanodaya off to a flying start
KATHMANDU: The hosts Gyanodaya got off to a flying start in the First Gyanodaya Invitational Junior Boys Football Tournament with a 9-1 rout of Shining Star on Wednesday. Gaurav Thapa scored a double hat-trick in the game while Prince Maharjan netted thrice in the game. Diwakar Thapa scored a consolation goal for Shining Star. In another match, GEMS defeated RIBS 2-0 with Niraj Maharjan and Nishan Thapa on target. GEMS also earned a walk-over from Gyan Sikha in another match.
Rayamajhi wins caddies´ golf
KATHMANDU: Dipendra Rayamajhi won the title of the third Eu Hazur´s Annual Caddies Golf Tournament at Gokarna Forest Golf Resort, Kathmandu on Wednesday. He defeated his closest rival Bikash Bogati by a slim margin of one-stroke. Rayamahi was very consistent as he scored three-over on both halves for a total of six over-par, 78. Rayamajhi pocketed Rs 10,000 and Bogati took home Rs 7,500. Samundra Giri was another shot away at eight-over, 80 to earn third place and Rs 6000. Bikash Bogati won longest drive and most birdies prize. Amit Bogati won the closest to the pin award while Pradeep Jirel won the lucky draw prize. Eu Hazur Thapa and her husband Krishna Narayan Singh Thapa sponsored the tournament.
