The International Cricket Council (ICC) has nominated Pradhan as one of the umpires in the Women´s World Cup. Pradhan is considered one of the finest umpires from the associate countries and had officiated the final match of the ICC World T20 Qualifiers between Ireland and Afghanistan in the UAE last year. So far, Pradhan has officiated 18 One-Day International matches and four T20 international matches. He has been listed in the ICC Associate and Affiliates Umpires Panel since 2005.
Host Gyan Niketan triumphs
KATHMANDU: Host Gyan Niketan on Friday defeated Babylon in a group stage match of junior boys´ section during the Gyan Niketan Inter-school Basketball Tournament being held in the capital. Gyan Niketan saw off Babylon 28-17 with 10 points from Manish Tamang. Under the senior boys´ category, RIBS overcame Deneb 44-24, AIA beat Radiant 41-35, Neric beat Gyanodaya 45-27 and Teresa stunned defending champion HIMS 43-42. In the senior girls´ section, Teresa beat New Vision 21-13 and Innovative edged past Innovative 26-22.
HISSAN sports kicks off
KATHMANDU: The men´s basketball teams of National Campus and Little Angels´ (LA) started their campaign with wins in the HISSAN Sports and Extra Curricular Activities that began in the capital on Friday. National defeated CCRC 45-31 with 13 points from Kiran Pun, while LA defeated Kanjirowa 52-28 on its home court in Hattiban. Nima Sherpa contributed the highest 20 points for LA. A total of 32 teams are competing in the basketball event. Earlier, Higher Secondary Education Board Vice-president Hem Kumar Mishra inaugurated the event.
