However, issuing a press note on Wednesday, CAN informed that the ICC Staff Conference will be held in Kathmandu instead of the Development Committee meeting.
The Division 5 league is scheduled for February 20 to 27.
Additional Rs 60 million for SAG
KATHMANDU, Jan 13: The government has allocated an additional Rs 60 million budget for the 11th South Asian Games to be held in Dhaka, Bangladesh from January 29 to February 9.
Earlier, the government had provided Rs 30 million. The National Sports Council had demanded Rs 110 million as expenses for the preparation and participation in the SAG.
The meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Wednesday decided to provide the additional budget. However, NSC Member-secretary Hari Babu Chaudhary said that he has no idea regarding the meeting.
Rowe shows interest in Nepal
KATHMANDU, Jan 13: Martial arts coach from the United Kingdom Adrian Rowe has shown his interest in training martial arts players in Nepal for a long term.
Rowe, also a former martial arts coach of the British Army, has been in the sports for the last five decades. He is a 6th dan in judo, 4th dan in Iaido and 3rd dan in kendo. He has trained the British Army, navy, air force and the 1st and 2nd British Gurkha Regiments.
He has shown interest in staying in Nepal and teaching the skills of martial arts to Nepali players. He is in Nepal for the second time, this time on a five-month visa.
Nepal Martial Arts Games Committee (NMGC) on Tuesday said that the committee would take initiative to extend his visa for a long stay in Nepal. “I would take Nepali kendo to world level if I train them for five years,” Rowe said.
Meanwhile, NMGC honored him amidst a function in the capital on Tuesday.
Reliance, BST win in BST Cup basketball
KATHMANDU, Jan 13: Reliance and hosts BST emerged victorious in Wednesday´s matches of the First BST Cup Inter College Men´s Basketball Tournament. Reliance thrashed Lincoln 50-27 and BST edged past Navodit 32-10.
Likewise, Siddhartha Vanasthali, LRI and Cyrus won their respective matches. Siddhartha Vanasthali defeated Tungram International Academy 42-32. LRI struggled past Valley College 17-16 in a competitive match while Cyrus ousted Nava Jeevan 23-13.
