KATHMANDU, June 16: China has pledged to accelerate the implementation of ongoing projects in Nepal and those previously agreed upon by the two countries, while reaffirming support for Nepal's economic growth and governance priorities.
The commitment came during talks between Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Nepal's Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal in Beijing on Monday, according to Nepal's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting, the Chinese side reaffirmed its commitment to swiftly implement projects and programs previously agreed upon by the two countries. The two delegations also discussed strengthening cooperation in infrastructure development, connectivity, border management, energy, trade, investment, agriculture, technology transfer, information technology and digitalization, tourism, chemical fertilizers, petroleum and natural gas exploration, and people-to-people exchanges.
China further pledged full support for the Nepal government's priorities on good governance and economic growth.
The Nepali side reiterated its commitment to the One China policy and assured that Nepali territory would not be used against China.
Earlier in the visit, Khanal met Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee. The two sides discussed ways to enhance Nepal-China relations, expand party-to-party exchanges, and deepen people-to-people ties, according to the ministry.
Foreign Minister Khanal is on a four-day official visit to Beijing at the invitation of his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi.
