Gyanodaya lifts title
KATHMANDU: Host Gyanodaya International School clinched the title of Second Gyanodaya Inter-school Junior Football Tournament on Tuesday. Gyanodaya edged past Learning Realm International (LRI) 2-0 in the final played at the host´s ground at Khokana, Lalitpur.
Kritesh Byanjankar and Saubhagya Sherchan scored a goal each for the winning side. Byanjankar was adjudged the best player of the tournament.
Prajapati leads NCR Cup in Delhi
KATHMANDU: Nepali amateur golfer Dinesh Prajapati carded even-par 72 to take the lead after the first round of NCR Cup at the Delhi Golf Club on Tuesday. According to Nepal Golf Association, Prajapati took the turn at two-over 38 and carded two-under 34 on the back nine to take a two-stroke lead over two players in the second position. Another Nepali player Ashish Pariyar played a round of six-over 78.
A total of 75 players, including 60 from India, seven from Pakistan and two each from Nepal, Ireland, Germany and Sri Lanka, are taking part in the eighth edition of the tournament. Cut will be applied after the second round on Wednesday, with the top 45 players making it to the final two rounds.
