Special Committee discusses army integration process

KATHMANDU, Feb.3: The Special Committee on Supervision, Integration and Rehabilitation of Maoist combatants on Wednesday held additional discussions on the working plan and guidelines of the army integration procedure.



Speaking with reporters Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Rakam Chemjong who is also the member of the committee said that the meeting discussed on expediting procedure to meet the given deadline.

 

Janardan Sharma, the member of the committee representing UCPN-Maoist, informed that discussions were held on amendment of the working plan and added that the issue is yet to be finalized as agreement of the high level political mechanism was required in some points.



Nepali Congress leader Dr Ram Saran Mahat said in the meeting discussions were held regarding the guidelines to bring the PLA combatants under the control of the special committee.



Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal is the chairman of the committee formed for the integration, rehabilitation and supervision of the People´s Liberation Army (PLA) combatants of the Maoist.
