Singh, Shovraj and Tandan sent to police custody

KATHMANDU, June 1: The Kathmandu District Court (KDC) on Wednesday ordered detention of Jagjeet Singh, Charles Shovraj and Amar Tandan, in connection with the attack on Yunus Ansari few months back, until the next decision of the court.



Ansari, who himself is in police detention for his alleged involvement in dealing in fake Indian currency notes, was shot inside the Central Jail in the capital few months ago. [break]



Singh, Shovraj and Tandan have been charged with conspiring to murder Ansari.



Singh has been named as the main offender while Shovraj and Tandan have been accused of abetting the assault in the case filed against them.



Singh had opened fire on Ansari while he was having a conversation with his brother and sister-in-law, who were visiting him in the jail.
