Singapore and Bahrain both qualified for the upcoming Div 5 tournament to be held in Nepal from February 20-27 next year. Other four teams to qualify for Division 5 tournament are Nepal, the United States, Jersey and Fiji.
In Saturday´s final, Singapore accumulated 242 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 50 overs while Bahrain could manage only 174 runs before being all out in 48.4 overs.
Himalayan White House wins Jaycees Cup Basketball
KATHMANDU, Sept 5: Himalayan White House College lifted Jaycees Cup Basketball Trophy defeating Golden Gate International College 65-57on Saturday.
In a competitive final, White House took 17 points lead in the first 21-4 which proved decisive in the White House College´s win. Rabin Khatri and Ajay Manandhar scored equal 17 points in the White House´s win.
Chetan Gurung of Golden Gate College bagged the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award.
Meanwhile, in the girls´ category, Golden Gate dominated Xavier College in the final from the beginning to win the trophy 58-20. Maya Syangten scored highest 23 points in Golden Gate´s win.
Sima Karki of Xavier International College won the MVP award.
Third Ramailo doubles badminton starts
KATHMANDU, Sept 5: Third Ramailo Doubles Badminton Tournament kicked off on Saturday. Thulo Bhai KC and Rabi Rai, Ramesh Thapa and Milan KC and Ram Chandra Basnet and Bijaya Shrestha registered wins in the first days´ play.
Jawalakhel Badminton Circle´s president inaugurated the tournament. Nineteen pairs are participating in the tournament which is organized by Samsung Jawalakhel Youth Club.
