KATHMANDU, Sept 8: The Supreme Court (SC) has ordered the Department of Revenue Investigation (DRI) not to proceed with investigation related to tax evasion by a law firm owned by the senior advocate Shambhu Thapa.

A single bench of Justice Prakash Wosti on Sunday ordered the DRI to produce the seized documents of Thapa’s law firm. DRI had raided a legal consultancy firm run by advocate Thapa, on suspicion of tax evasion along with five other service firms. Similarly, the DRI had seized computers, laptops and documents from Thapa’s law firm. [break]
