Sana Hastakala launches new products

KATHMANDU, Dec 9: Sana Hastakala - the exporter of Nepali handicraft - on Sunday organized a daylong ´open house´ at its retail outlet in Kupandol.



On the occasion, Sana Hastakala, the founding member of Fair Trade Group Nepal, also launched new paper, ceramics, metal, cotton, and pashmina products, among others.[break]



“We organized open house to inform customers about the products that we deal on and to promote our sales,” said Rojina Thapa, export and communication officer at Sana Hastakala.



The store has introduced new range of ´wine bottle´ paper products like notebooks, wine bags, boxes, photo frames and envelopes. These products bear wine bottle prints. These products are available in price range of Rs 55 to Rs 510.



“We introduced this new range of paper products as they are environment friendly and attractive,” said Thapa.



Similarly, the newly introduced metal wares, stone wares and ceramic products are priced between Rs 75 and Rs 990. Customers can also get complete range of household products like tea set, dinner set, flower vase, trays and wine glasses, among others, at the store.

Garden ceramics that look very natural and help beautify the gardens are also among the new arrivals at the store. These products are available in the range of Rs 600 to Rs 6,800.



Sana Hastakala has also introduced new range of printed pashmina products. “As days are getting colder in Kathmandu, these products will help our customers keep themselves warm as well as look stylish,” said Thapa.



Pashmina shawls, stoles and mufflers at Sana Hastakala are available in range of Rs 1,150 to Rs 4,725.



It has also introduced wide range of refrigerator magnets that showcase culture of various ethnic groups. These magnets are available at Rs 330 a piece. Screen printed cotton bed covers, pillow covers and cushion covers are also among the newly launched items at the store. The pillow and cushion covers are available at Rs 300 a piece while the bed cover sets start from Rs 2,360.



“We organized open house for the first time to promote domestic handicrafts products and offer new varieties to our customers,” Rohini Shrestha, store manager of Sana Hastakala, said. “The program was very successful as many locals as well as foreigners visited our store.”



The store saw total turnover of Rs 200,000 on the day, according to Shrestha.
