Robbers shoot man, loot Rs 2 million

MAHOTTARI, Jan 8: A local in Banchauri of Mahotari district was shot and robbed of two million rupees by an unidentified group on Wednesday afternoon.



Police have identified the victim as Rajdev Chaudhary, 33. He is currently undergoing treatment at Janakpur Zonal Hospital.[break]



According to police inspector Suraj Khadka, the group in the course of robbery had shot Chaudhary in his left leg and fled with his motorcycle and money. Chaudhary had withdrawn the money from various banks in Janakpur.



Chaudhary runs IME money transfer, a remittance agency, at Sarpallo market of the district.
