The protestors led by the Integrated Administrative Service Center Concern Society Nijgadh Bara have set up tent camps along the highway to continue their protests for an indefinite period until the government bows to their demand.
Political party leaders at local level, the business community, local organizations and representatives of other sections of society are demanding that such a center be established immediately as per the government´s decision.
Locals in Chandranigahapur of Rautahat district, Hariwan of Sarlahi, and Bardibas of Mahottari have also blocked the highways demanding establishment of similar centers in their respective areas. Several action committees have been formed to launch protests over the issue.
The government on January 11 decided to establish integrated administrative service centers in 52 districts to facilitate public services.
