Prez Yadav off to Japan for medical treatment

KATHMANDU, June 17: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav flew to Japan for his medical treatment, on Monday afternoon. The 10-member team left from Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu, on a Thai Airway plane at 1:55 pm.



 Accompanying him are his son Chandra Mohan, daughter Anita, personal physician Dr Yadav Bhatta, legal aide Surya Dhungel, Protocol Chief at the foreign ministry Niranjan Man Singh, three security personnel and a personal aide. [break]



President Yadav had been manifesting gastroenteritis complications. As a black spot seen in the large intestine could not be diagnosed properly, doctors at TU Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj and Grande International Hospital, Dhapasi had suggested taking him abroad for further check up and treatment.



Sources say President Yadav will undergo his treatment at a government hospital in Japan.The Nepali Embassy in Japan has been asked to make necessary preparations for the treatment, including the selection of hospital and accommodation.
