The palace situated in a main part of Lhasa had been constructed in the 7th century during the regime of Tibetan king Srongtsen Gompo.
The 1300-year-old palace considered as the largest palace in the world was enlisted in the World Heritage List by UNESCO in 1994. It is nearly 3700 meters above the sea level. The 117.19 meter tall palace is expanded 360 meters east west and 270 meters north south.
Similarly, the Prime Minister also visited the Chokhang Temple.
The temple had been constructed in the name of Bhrikuti, one of the queens among the two queens of Srongtsen. The Prime Minister is scheduled to leave for Siyan, another historic place of Chaina along with his delegation today.
