"The Supreme Court (SC) has given the time of six months….We do accept what verdict the people´s court delivers. Give us your decision; you are our justices," said Dahal while addressing a rally in Kathmandu held to mark the 17th anniversary of the Maoist People´s War. [break]
The SC has already passed its verdict ruling out the possibility of another extension of the constitution drafting body beyond May 28.
In his firebrand speech, Dahal asked the party cadres, who had gathered at Tundikhel from the outskirts and surrounding districts of Kathmandu, to be ready for a people´s revolt if the regressive elements come in the way of formulating a "pro-people" constitution and concluding the PLA integration in a dignified manner.

Whipping up the party cadres, Dahal claimed that a people´s revolt will be inevitable if the NC and UML conspire to formulate a new edition of the 1990 constitution.
He also issued a threat to the parliamentary parties saying his party would launch a people´s revolt if they attempted to to bring a new edition of the 1990 constitution. He also claimed that the achievements of the people´s war and peace process and constitution drafting are at risk.

The last central committee meeting of the party had decided to launch a people´s revolt if the parties came in the way of a dignified PLA integration and a "pro-people constitution that is anti-imperialist and anti-expansionist in essence".
The Maoist chairman also responded to the recent suggestions by Senior Vice-chairman Mohan Baidya who had asked him to lead a proletarian revolution and not become a "statesman" as the NC and UML wants him to be. "The leader of the proletariat can also become a statesman," he said.
Fending off accusations of revisionism, Dahal stated that the path of revolution is always straight, but full of twists and turns, and he is still on the right track.

He asked the Baidya faction leaders to learn from the lives of Lenin and Mao who made scores of compromises to lead the revolution to success.
"Lenin was also accused of being stooge of Germany for making compromises," he stated.
Likewise, addressing to the meeting, Senior Vice-chairman Baidya stated that the party unity is based on the unity of ideological thoughts.
"Why unity? It is for revolution. It is a unity based on the similarity of political thoughts. Without the correct political line, we cannot form a party," he said.

"If unity is just to make the party bigger in size," Baidya argued in a sarcastic tone adding, "It would be beneficial to forge unity with the NC or UML."
He also bashed Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai for being unable to work for the people, and making compromises on the party´s fundamental principles.
Meanwhile speaking at a rally in Dang Monday, Maoist leader Netra Bikram Chand warned of another "people´s war" if the Nepali Congress (NC) and UML pushed their way too far and cornered the Maoist party.
"If they still force their way further, then another war will begin and everything will be eliminated," said Chand, and warned of dire consequences if the parties continue to besiege the Maoists.
