Over 100 adults sitting for SLC exam in Sindhupalchowk

SINDUPALCHOWK, March 13: More than hundred adults who are already parents in Sindupalchowk district are appearing in this year´s School Leaving Certificate (SLC) examinations, which start from Thursday across the country.



The Sindupalchowk District Education Office (DEO) informed that as many as 106 parents from two adult schools and an open school in the district are sitting in the SLC exams. [break]



Of the total parents sitting for the exams, 17 are from Rajeshawri School of Sipapokhare VDC while 48 each are from Aanand School in Jalbire VDC and Ratna Ganga Open School in the district headquarters, Chautara, according to the DEO. These schools run non-formal classes for adults.



These parents are appearing in the SLC after spending five years in non-formal classes.



Meanwhile, the DEO also informed that all the preparation for the SLC exams in the district has been completed.



According to the Distirct Education Officer (DEO) Gehanath Gautam the tasks of determining examination centers and manpower selection process for the exam have been completed. The question papers and answer sheets for the SLC exams have also been dispatched to all the examination centers on Tuesday.



A total of 5,979 students from 131 schools in the district are sitting in this year´s SLC exams at 24 designated examination centers, informed DEO Gautam.



A total of 24 superintendents, 48 assistant superintendents, 236 invigilators, 76 helpers and 216 police officers (nine in each exam center) have been arranged for conducting the exams in fair manner, he informed.
