NPDA warns of stopping to purchase petro products

KATHMANDU, March 3: The Nepal Petroleum Dealers´ Association(NPDA) has warned to stop purchasing petroleum products from the government from Monday, if it turned a deaf ear towards the petroleum entrepreneurs´ demands.



The Association demanded that the government make arrangement for smooth supply of the petroleum products, stop the increasing insecurity and donation terror, address the petroleum workers problem, among others.[break]



Talking to RSS, General Secretary of the Association, Bishwa Prasad Aryal, said we are compelled to cancel the deal with the state-owned Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) as it failed to implement the past agreements.



He said the Association has informed the Office of the Prime Minister, Ministry of Commerce and Supplies and NOC that it would stop purchasing petroleum products from the NOC with effect from Monday.





The Association would completely stop the business deal with the NOC within a few days if our demands were ignored, he added.



There are 2,200 petrol pumps operational in the country including 200 in Kathmandu Valley, according to the Association.
