Both the sides agreed to form the commission during the meeting between Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun and the high-level delegation of Czech Republic on Wednesday.[break]
The delegation led by Ivo Hlavac, Czech Republic´s Assistant Minister for Environment, arrived in Kathmandu on a five-day trade mission earlier on the day.
Nepal has already formed joint economic forums with different countries including China, Bangladesh and Pakistan.
The delegation also called on Environment Minister Hem Raj Tated and Energy Minister Post Bahadur Bogati.
A press statement says the 15-member delegation will hold extensive discussion with high-ranking government officials to explore relations in the sector of hydropower, alternative energy, drinking water management, education and economic cooperation.
"It is a good idea to form a bilateral economic commission. It will help boost trade between two countries as well as foster friendly ties between private sectors of both countries," said Ivo Hlavac.
Czech Republic has shown interest on exhchange of experience and cooperation in hydropower, waste management, drinking water management and climate change sectors.
On the occasion, Finance Minster Pun assured the delegation of security of investment in Nepal.
