‘NC's decision to contest elections in Prez, PM strengthened national unity’

KATHMANDU, Nov 2: Three top leaders of the Nepali Congress (NC) have expressed their views regarding the role of party after promulgation of new constitution.

During today's central committee (CC) meeting of party, NC President Sushil Koirala, senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba and Vice-President Ram Chandra Poudel expressed their opinions in response to the cc members' concerns.On the occasion, some CC members had asked the views of top leaders regarding the party's move of filing candidacies to different post including the Prime Minister and President.

Responding to the CC members' concerns, President Koirala, senior leader Deuba and Vice-President Poudel said that NC's decision to contest the elections in different key posts has strengthened national unity.

CC member Mahendra Sharma said that the meeting is likely to discuss the political situation created in the country after the promulgation of new constitution and role of NC. RSS
