"Since mobile handsets, especially smartphones, have various system software and applications and those programs and apps continue to function in background, they continue to consume data even when the customers are not using them." The mobile service provider has suggested to the customers to disable background data, unless required, to prevent such uninformed/unwanted usage of data. "It will help the users to have control over the resources and also help avoid bad experience of losing balance or data volume without using Internet," it said in the statement.
