The meeting also decided to keep open the option of the leadership from within the incumbent ruling coalition in case Bhattarai’s leadership in the next government is unacceptable to other parties.
The party has pushed its Vice-chairman Narayankaji Shrestha as the next favored person for the PM post.
Optionally, the Maoists have put forth the names of Madhesi People´s Rights Forum-Democratic Chairman Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar and Tarai Madhes Democratic Party Chairman Mahantha Thakur for the top post.
On Friday, the president had called upon the political parties to recommend the name of the new prime minister through consensus to lead the to-be-formed national consensus government.
